Winter Wonderland

It dumped tons of snow on us this last weekend! We took advantage of the weather and went sledding. They canceled school for the kids and even work for Michael so we were able to enjoy our day! There is more snow in the forecast so we will keep our fingers crossed for more school and work closures!

Mikey is 5!

"Cheese!" Mikey turned 5 on January 2nd. We can't believe how fast time flies. We were in Idaho Falls on his birthday so Grandma bought him a cake and he seemed to truly enjoy the singing of "Happy Birthday" and by the look on his face, we think he liked his cake too!

He amazes us and is our hero!

We made it to Idaho Falls to stay with mom and dad over New Years after a failed attempt the first time... the weather has been wintery and they closed the pass! It was fun when we finally made it although the temperatures in the single digits had us shivering! It was good to see a bunch of family and friends!

We went to Seattle in December to watch the 49ers play the Seahawks. Although the game didn't turn out the way that we had hoped, we were able to see our family and have a great time! Aunt Pam took these pictures and gave them to us when we saw her and Uncle Doug in Idaho over the Christmas break. We have been lucky to see them a few times this year!

Christmas 2007

Our Christmas break has been a lot of fun! The kids have been keeping themselves busy with their new toys and our wii! Caden seems to have more fun playing in dad's work boots and hat rather then his toys, but whatever keeps him happy!

Our night in Leavenworth, WA

We decided it would be fun to take the kids to Leavenworth for a night so they could see the Christmas lights and snow. We ended up having a great time with tasty German food, beautiful lights, lots of snow, shopping and sledding! I love the picture of Mikey and Michael sledding!Look at the excitement in his face!

Thanksgiving 2007

We ended up staying home for Thanksgiving. Although it would have been great to be in Idaho with family, we ended up having a nice dinner with just the five of us. The kids helped with the preparing of the dinner and also helped set the table. They enjoyed being a part of all the work!

Ellyx's teacher conference

Ellyx's teacher conferences were today and of course.... she is perfect! :) She is doing awesome! We are so proud!

Mikey's teacher conference

I am so proud of Mikey! I went to his teacher conference today and was given a great report on Mikey's progress. I rewarded him with ice cream and as you can see he is pretty happy about it. I meet with Ellyx's teacher tomorrow and am looking forward to hearing about how she is doing.... from what I have heard she is doing great too!

Seattle Weekend

We went to Seattle for the weekend to meet up with family. We took the long way there and snapped this great picture of Mt. Rainer! Ahma and Papa Joe flew in and were able to have a great, early Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks Adrianne and Kale! It was a fun time with lots of good food, Bag-O (thanks Kale and Dru for all the hard work) and dominoes.

The Smith clan was in town for Monday night football... Seattle vs San Fran. We were able to spend some time with all of them and make it to the football game. It was so much fun seeing everybody!

Visit to Ahma and Papa Joe's

We had a great time visitng Ahma and Papa Joe.

We took a drive up to the Ruby Mountains where it was snowing!

The kids had fun playing in the leaves in the backyard and exploring Papa Joe's shop.

For Halloween we had a Witch, Woody & Eeyore.

The kids had a great time out trick or treating with their dad.

Mikey

Mikey is doing great at school and we are so proud of him! He has changed so much in the past year. He is proud to be a big boy that rides the bus to school... he has really developed a new sense of independence.

Crazy Caden

These pictures were taken on the morning of Ellyx's birthday. Ellyx and I participated in a walk for children with Downs Syndrome. We had the winter clothing pulled out so we could bundle up for the chilly morning walk. Somehow Michael and Caden ended up dressing up and they weren't even the ones going on the walk! Caden thought he was pretty hot stuff in that hat and scarf.

Ellyx's Birthday

Ellyx is 6 years old! We can't believe how fast time flies! She wanted a "littlest pet shop" party. I made an interesting cake. :) She invited a few of her friends and they had fun with a pinata and pin the tail on the donkey.
